Returning your used pens could not be simpler and is completely free of charge. To get started, pick up a PenCycle® return box from your nearest participating pharmacy.
Alternatively, you can order return boxes directly to your home.
PenCycle® in a few simple steps
Remove the needle from your empty, pre-filled Novo Nordisk pen and dispose of the needle safely using a sharps bin (do not put the needle in the PenCycle® return box)
Push your empty pen through the hole
When the return box is full, either return it to your nearest participating pharmacy or mail it back to us free of charge
Some important
points to
remember
- Please always make sure your pre-filled Novo Nordisk pen is empty before you put it in the box
- Removing the needle from your empty pen before you put your pen in the return box is really important your pen cannot be recycled if the needle is still attached
- Always dispose of the needle immediately after each injection using a sharps bin. Never store your pen with the needle attached. Keep your sharps bin in a safe place so it's not a risk to other people and is out of the sight and reach of children. Sharps bins must not be disposed of in household waste. Discuss with your healthcare professional the procedure for disposing of sharps bins in your area
- Your PenCycle® return box can hold approximately 10 pens
- You can collect a new return box from participating pharmacies, or order them directly to your home
Reporting of side effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in the package leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at https://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/.
Side effects should also be reported to Novo Nordisk Limited (Telephone Novo Nordisk Customer Care Centre 0800 023 2573). Calls may be monitored for training purposes. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
